KnowledgeBase buys majority stake in DataCore

KnowledgeBase Marketing, a direct marketing services provider owned by WPP Group PLC’s Wunderman agency, has bought a 51 percent stake in DataCore Marketing Inc.

DataCore, Kansas City, MO, offers marketing strategy, data and program management, fulfillment, and reporting and analytics services. Its clients include John Deere, Michelin, Novartis, H&R Block, Bayer Environmental Science and Hill’s Pet Nutrition.

“This acquisition will allow KBM to increase its penetration in the pharmaceutical and financial services industries, and to focus on new industries such as consumer products and new capabilities in the business-to-business sector,” said Gary S. Laben, president/CEO of KnowledgeBase Marketing, Richardson, TX.

DataCore services such as program management, including customer contact center and fulfillment operations, will help KnowledgeBase clients with end-to-end campaign execution and fulfillment.

Frontier Partners, a division of Frontier Investment Banking Corp., represented DataCore in this deal. Terms were not disclosed.

DataCore’s staff of more than 120 employees will keep their current positions and operate from the Kansas City office. Jeff Yowell, president/CEO of DataCore, will retain a 49 percent interest in the company. He will continue his involvement with DataCore.

KnowledgeBase has the option of buying the rest of the company in the future.
