Kewill Supports UPS' First-Attempt Delivery Without Signature

Several shipping management solutions from Kewill Solutions North America now support a United Parcel Service feature that allows shippers to request that shipments be delivered on the first attempt without a signature, the company said yesterday.

The feature is available with UPS' portfolio of domestic air and ground services. It also can be accessed by shippers that use UPS Internet Shipping, UPS CampusShip and ConnectShip. UPS WorldShip users will be able to use it starting in January, Kewill said.

UPS said the option is particularly useful for companies shipping time-sensitive documents or perishable goods, as well as companies delivering to residential and rural addresses. Omaha Steaks International is one of the companies that will use the program right away, a UPS spokesman said.

UPS said shipper release cannot be used with C.O.D. service, any UPS return service, signature required or adult signature required delivery confirmation.
