Kevin Ryan replaces Danny Sullivan at SES

Incisive Media announced yesterday that Kevin Ryan has joined Search Engine Strategies and Search Engine Watch as vice president of global content, effective immediately.

Mr. Ryan will replace search guru Danny Sullivan, who, in August, said he would stop aiding Incisive Media in the production of the Search Engine Strategies series of conferences and exhibitions.

“Kevin Ryan is taking over for Danny and his involvement with both Search Engine Strategies and Search Engine Watch will prove to be very beneficial in both the short and long term as we continue to adapt to an ever changing and maturing industry,” said Matt McGowan, vice president of marketing at Incisive Media, New York.

Search Engine Strategies is a search industry global conference with events in New York, San Jose, Chicago and other U.S cities as well as in several countries.

“The explosive growth of Search Engine Marketing has changed the way we think, behave and experience content on the Web,” Mr. Ryan said. “Search Engine Strategies and Search Engine Watch have strong teams in place to keep the online marketing world at large informed. That said, the industry within and surrounding search is in a constant state of motion so of course we will have to change with the industry.”

Search Engine Watch is Incisive’s Web site for search engine marketing news and information.

Mr. Ryan previously served as vice president, Interactive Media for the Interpublic Group agency, Wahlstrom Interactive and CEO of Kinetic Results.

He recently founded a consulting firm, Motivity Marketin. He has also written more than 200 articles on search and interactive marketing as search editor for iMedia Communications, a trade publisher and event producer serving the interactive media and marketing industries.

His former client roster includes brands such as Rolex Watch USA, State Farm Insurance, Farmers Insurance, Minolta Corporation, Samsung Electronics America, Toyota Motor Sales, USA, Panasonic Services, and Hilton Hotels. Additionally, Mr. Ryan has volunteered his time with the Interactive Advertising Bureau, Search Engine Marketing Professional Organization and several regional nonprofit organizations. He also served several years on the ad:tech advisory board.
