Jeanniey Mullen leaves OgilvyOne for Zinio Systems

Jeanniey Mullen, founder of the Email Experience Council, is leaving her position as executive director of OgilvyOne Worldwide’s Global Email and Digital Dialogue and taking a new position as global EVP of Zinio Systems and VIV Magazine.

Mullen, who will continue her role as executive chairwoman at the EEC, will begin her new position at Zinio on February 18. Zinio is a digital magazine and digital book business led by CEO Richard A. Maggiotto.

“Zinio focuses on making digital magazines more interactive, which I am excited about,” she said. “The distribution and messaging is still all done through e-mail, so I’m really looking forward to applying the best practices that we’ve been talking about.”

At OgilvyOne worldwide, Mullen led marketers in CRM efforts and all aspects of interactive marketing. While at OgilvyOne, she established the global e-mail service.

Prior to joining OgilvyOne, Mullen founded and ran her own interactive agency. Before that, she served as the chief marketing officer and EVP at Avalon Digital Marketing Systems, where she helped launch a b-to-b e-mail platform that incorporated on-demand video into the e-mail message.

Mullen is seen as a thought leader in the e-mail and digital marketing field. In addition to her active role in the EEC, Mullen has contributed to DMNews and ClickZ. She has published numerous whitepapers and best practice guides and is a frequent speaker on e-mail marketing.
