JCPenney launches frequent shopper program

JCPenney has launched the JCP Rewards frequent shopper program, enabling members to earn monthly $10 certificates.

The program enables customers to earn reward points and receive special members-only benefits by shopping with JCPenney either in-store, online or by catalog. Customers automatically receive points from purchases on any one of three personal credit or debit cards they register online for the program, all of which can accumulate for monthly rewards. Members will earn one point for every dollar they spend on JCPenney regular-priced and sale-priced merchandise, and points will double for customers that shopped at JCPenney the previous month.

Members can earn monthly $10 certificates that are valid through the end of the calendar month in which it is issued. The certificates can be used in conjunction with other promotions and purchases in which the $10 certificate is used will be counted towards earning reward points.

“We know that a significant number of consumers are shopping in our merchandise categories each month,” said Mike Boylson, CMO at JCPenney, in a statement. “We also know that our customers spend an average of $30 to $40 each time they shop with us. With JCP Rewards, we are able to reward customers for regularly shopping at JCPenney, while building long-term customer loyalty.”

In addition to reward points, customers who sign-up for the program will also receive members-only e-mails with savings and special bonus offers.
