J. Crew Group Inc., New York, said yesterday that revenue for the third quarter of fiscal 2001 totaled $195.6 million, down 3.3 percent from $202.3 million last year.
Comparable-store sales fell 17.7 percent for the quarter that ended Nov. 3.
However, net sales in J. Crew's Direct business rose 6.1 percent to $65.7 million, from $61.9 million for last year's third quarter.
Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization totaled $19.1 million, compared with $22.4 million for third-quarter 2000.
For the four weeks ending Dec. 1, comparable-store sales are expected to fall about 25 percent compared with the four weeks ended Dec. 2, 2000, while Direct sales are expected to be down 15 percent versus last year.
