I-Traffic Drives Into Europe

Agency.com Ltd.’s i-traffic interactive agency arm has made its first foray overseas with the renaming of sibling London Digital Marketing Group to i-traffic: London.

The new outpost in London will service European clients. It starts off with existing London Digital clients such as Reuters, British Airways and Interbrew UK, which is the local brewer of Heineken beer. Two new undisclosed clients have also come aboard.

Ron Kovas, New York-based president of i-traffic, said the move overseas was “because we have developed at i-traffic certain disciplines and expertise and we’re going to be transferring four of our people to London, and it was felt by Agency.com that i-traffic should drive digital marketing worldwide.”

I-traffic was founded in 1995, and Agency.com bought it four years later. I-traffic today has more than 200 executives in New York, San Francisco, Chicago and London.

The rebranding of London Digital Group will not involve any layoffs among its 30-strong British staff.

“We’ve hired several senior people, and we’re in the process of hiring more,” Kovas said.

In related news, insurance company Liberty International Holdings Inc., part of Liberty Mutual Group, has named Agency.com, Boston, to create and implement online business services targeting the Brazilian market.

Agency.com’s business-to-business extranet system will streamline the insurance sales process by allowing brokers and agents to obtain policy quotes online, follow claims, bind policies, and access agent and policyholder support services.
