Yahoo Mobile is growing its business by expanding its services into new countries and with new product offerings.
After announcing the expansion at the Mobile World Congress in February, Yahoo Mobile’s new personalized mobile homepage is now available in eight countries across Europe, Asia and the Americas including the US, Canada, the UK, Germany, France, India, Indonesia and the Philippines, with additional localized versions expected to launch over the next several months.
In addition, Yahoo’s mobile Web page will now be available across more than 300 devices with HTML-enabled mobile browsers at new.m.yahoo.com.
The online giant also has a new mobile app for iPhone. And further, a Yahoo Messenger application will soon be available for the iPhone so that iPhone users can chat via instant message.
“Consumers around the globe are demanding compelling mobile Internet services that offer increased personalization,” said David Ko, SVP of Yahoo Mobile, in a statement.
The new Yahoo Mobile offering will expand advertising media space by creating more display impressions. These impressions have the capability to generate rich media ads through functions, such as send to a friend, locate a dealer, clicking to call the advertiser directly, or the ability to learn more information about the advertiser’s offer.
