IntelliContact renamed iContact

IntelliContact, an e-mail marketing and blogging firm, has had its name changed to iContact by its parent company, Broadwick Corp. The change became effective June 5.

According to co-founders Ryan Allis and Aaron Houghton, the name is being shortened to make it easier to say and remember. Also they want it to reflect the company’s growth. Over the past four years, iContact has grown from a two-person entrepreneurial start-up to a company with 57 employees and more than 11,000 customers.

The Broadwick Corp. intends to keep its name, but the Durham, NC, company will do business as, and be known as, iContact. It also plans no employee changes.

In addition to the name change, the company has changed its slogan. It was: “We Simplify Email Marketing.” The new one is: “We Simplify Communication.”
