InfoUSA First-Quarter Revenue to Exceed Forecast

InfoUSA, Omaha, NE, a database marketing company, expects its first-quarter results to exceed the company's forecast, rebounding from fourth-quarter 2000 levels.

Preliminary results for the first quarter indicate that revenue will exceed $73 million, compared with $70.4 million in fourth-quarter 2000. Because of cost-cutting measures implemented during December and January, the company expects earnings to be more than $25 million for the first quarter, compared with $9.3 million for fourth-quarter 2000.

“In light of current economic conditions, we are very pleased with the strength in revenues and [earnings] that we experienced during the first quarter,” said Stormy Dean, chief financial officer at infoUSA. “We believe this underscores the heightened quality of our customer service and increased productivity of our sales force. It also validates the wisdom of our cost-cutting measures over the past two quarters.”

The company plans to report first-quarter 2001 earnings on April 16 before the market opens.
