InfoSpace Adds Video to Online Marketing Services

InfoSpace yesterday said it would make video technology available to its network of merchants and manufacturers.

InfoSpace, Bellevue, WA, a provider of commerce platforms and applications, formed an agreement with Seattle-based video technology provider Vendaria.

InfoSpace will integrate Vendaria's catalog of videos with its commerce products, offering the service to its network of 4,000 merchants and manufacturers to use in their online promotional campaigns. Vendaria has 400 to 500 existing product videos in its catalog.

“The goal is to make sure buyers and sellers exchange information in the best way possible,” said David Shipps, vice president of commerce services at InfoSpace. “We're hoping the video technology will complement our suite of offerings and aid the consumer in a unique way.”

Vendaria's technology allows users to view streaming video without having to download new technology. Users with dial-up connections of 36K and faster can view the videos.
