Indimi will unveil pqGifts, a free desktop gift-buying service, in time for the holidays, the company said last week.
PqGifts will offer consumers a comprehensive online gift portal complete with gift-giving recommendations and gift-buying options — all straight from the desktop, the company said.
Indimi, New York, said the mySimon price comparison service gives users of pcGifts the added benefit of comparison shopping across multiple online commerce sites.
The new site can be accessed from both www.pqgifts.com and pqdesktop.com. PqGifts will debut with the holiday shopping season. It will continue as a free shopping search engine and shopping portal for specific holidays throughout the year.
According to Indimi, pqGifts will use a proprietary technology that will allow it to “live” as an unobtrusive holiday gift selection search engine on the user's desktop. To locate a gift, the user must follow drop-down menus to customize a holiday shopping search. The menus will ask the user for search criteria, which include: the recipient of the gift, the occasion, the product category and the price range.
Product categories include bath and beauty, cooking, entertainment, artwork and photography, fashion, consumer electronics and computers/software.
PqGifts is a product within the pqDesktop brand, which stands for “persistent and quick” technologies.
