Inc., Fast Company see rapid circulation growth: ABC report

Mansueto Ventures’ Inc. and Fast Company magazine brands both saw an increase in circulation in the Audit Bureau of Circulation’s FAS-FAX report.

The results were taken for the six months ending Dec. 31, 2006.

Among the 260-plus U.S. consumer magazines that claimed rate base for 2006, Inc. magazine ranks first with the highest percentage increase in growth of single-copy newsstand sales.

Fast Company magazine ranks third, according to the FAS-FAX report.

For the six-month period, Inc. magazine had a total paid circulation base of 690,559 and saw its newsstand sales increase 47 percent over the same period in 2005, to an average of 21,386.

During the same period, Fast Company magazine had a total paid circulation rate base of 750,178 and saw its total newsstand copies increase 37 percent over the same period in 2005.

Every six months, publishers file their circulation claims with ABC, resulting in an ABC Publisher’s Statement and a listing in ABC’s FAS-FAX report.

Member listings in the report are preliminary top-line circulation averages, culled from the newly filed claims that are subject to audit.

ABC Periodical Membership includes publishers in the consumer magazine, business publication, farm publication and religious publication categories.

Inc. is a business publication dedicated exclusively to owners and senior managers of growing private companies. It can be found online at www.inc.com.
