* Novus Marketing, Tarrytown, NY, has picked up three files totaling 2.47 million names. As of July 1, Novus took over management of the magazines Parenting (1.22 million names) and Baby Talk (914,000) from Mal Dunn Associates, Croton Falls, NY, and the National Audubon membership file (340,000) from American List Counsel, Princeton, NJ. The National Audubon file will be enhanced to examine secondary market use.

* Stevens-Knox List Management, New York, took over July 1 the files of Paisano Publications, New York, with a total universe of 552,000. The largest Paisano files are Easyriders mail-order buyers with 260,000 names and the Motorcycle Enthusiast master file of 120,000 names. The files had been managed by Media Management Group, Plainsboro, NJ.

* Appellation Wine Country Living was so popular at DM Days New York that new list manager American List Counsel had trouble stocking enough sample copies of the upscale lifestyle magazine at its booth. ALC, which assumed management of the 30,655-name file June 1, is marketing Appellation for upscale offers. Its readers spend an average of $1,130 a year on mail-order purchases and have an average household income of $150,200 and investment portfolio of $757,400.

* List Services Corp., Bethel, CT, tapped into the sales executive market by assuming management of the 122,000-name Selling Power Magazine master file June 15. Since starting a dedicated marketing effort in 1996, this how-to magazine has grown its circulation base by 17 percent to nearly 200,000. Selling Power readers have an average household income of $127,500 and work for companies with average annual revenues of $307.2 million. The file can be used to reach sales professionals at 91,532 business addresses.
