Imre acquires MDV Communications

In a move that shows its commitment to the digital channel, brand-marketing firm Imre Communications has acquired Baltimore-based MDV Communications, an online-marketing firm.

“Digital communications is no longer a nice-to-have – it’s a must-have component of any marketing plan today,” said Dave Imre, president of Imre Communications, in a statement. “This acquisition represents a response to client need and, more broadly, a commitment to an exploding channel.”

The move gives Imre a more robust platform of digital services, including Web 2.0 strategies such as search engine optimization and search engine marketing as well as blog strategy, Web site development, content syndication and online data analysis.

MDV employees and clients began operating under Imre management August 1. Imre’s digital division will be led by Marci De Vries, who was president of MDV Communications.

Imre provides brand strategy, public relations and marketing communications for business-to-business and business-to-consumer clients that include Travelers, MetLife, John Deere and Levolor.

MDV’s clients include Camper’s Choice, Systems Alliance Inc. and San-J International.
