iMarketing News to Go Weekly in January

Only six months after launching iMarketing News as a monthly newspaper covering e-commerce and Internet marketing, DM News parent company Mill Hollow Corp. has announced that the rapidly growing tabloid will become a weekly in January.

“The reception to iMarketing News has been phenomenal,” said company founder and president Adrian Courtenay, who indicated that per-issue ad sales were running two and three times original estimates.

Courtenay attributed the instant success of the title to an enormous demand for information on i-marketing and e-commerce from “early adopters,” direct marketers, catalogers, retailers, manufacturers, Fortune 500 companies and other businesses that “do not want to be left in the dust by one of the biggest revolutions in the history of business and commerce.”

He pointed out that the iMarketing News reporting staff, under editor Ken Magill, had done a superb job to date in filling the need for timely coverage of major news developments in the field and were uniquely qualified to cover Internet commerce because of the many direct marketing concepts being adopted in e-commerce, e-mail marketing, rich media and other areas of e-business. Courtenay also said the circulation for iMarketing News, now at 45,000, is expected to increase in the coming year.

In related news, the company has announced a series of promotions for a number of its sales executives:

* Scott Vail, formerly sales manager of DM News, has been named publisher of DM News and vice president of sales and marketing for the company's direct marketing and Internet titles. Vail started with the company in 1994 and became advertising sales manager in 1997. He has an MBA from New York University and graduated from Ohio Wesleyan.

* Nick Englezos, who joined the company in 1996 and has been a consistent sales leader both in the direct marketing and Internet fields, has been named publisher of iMarketing News. Englezos graduated from Long Island University and was with Clark Boardman Callaghan, New York, before joining DM News.

Other promotions announced by Courtenay include James Dunn to the position of associate publisher of DM News and Garrett Spellman to associate publisher of iMarketing News. Dunn graduated from Loyola College, and Spellman graduated from Georgia Tech.
