iMarket Announces New Portal, Division

Marketing software vendor iMarket Inc., Waltham, MA, unveiled a new business unit and data portal this week called zapdata.com.

Zapdata.com allows sales and marketing professionals to retrieve data incorporated into its well-known Marketplus product through a data portal. This data includes contact names and detailed information on more than 10 million U.S. businesses, gleaned from sources such as Cahners Business Lists, Dun & Bradstreet, List Technology Systems Group, Harris InfoSource, Pension Data Resources, PNR & Associates, WEFA and ZD Market Intelligence.

Zapdata.com allows users to create detailed lead lists, obtain market profile reports with market size statistics and potential, append key business data to their own lead or customer databases and obtain complete customer analysis reports from one Web site.

For example, traveling sales representatives with open appointment times can easily access local contacts to fill their schedules; sales directors can go append details about businesses to their trade show and Web leads for more effective lead distribution; recruiting firms can save hours in research time finding the correct candidates for a position or the right company for someone seeking a new position; and Marketing directors can get fast turnaround on the characteristics of their best customers and then get targeted leads that match those profiles directly from zapdata.com.

Steve Mader, Vice President of Christian and Timbers, Burlington, MA, an executive search firm that has beta tested zapdata.com, said the system, “gives us the ability to access multiple sources of data — all in one place — with one tool. This can significantly reduce the amount of time we spend exploring other less comprehensive solutions.'

In August , the company will add zapleads, which provides instant access to top-quality, targeted prospect lists, and zapenhance, which provides firm-specific data appended to lead files.

All zapdata.com pricing is based on a per-transaction basis, with no subscription or registration fees. The costs for zapleads start at 10 cents per record and varies depending on the number of leads and the level of detailed information purchased.

“Zapdata.com is very cost effective because the fees are all transaction based, and paying by the drink works for everyone,” said Mader.

According to iMarket, zapdata.com will continue its growth.

“We will continue to unveil additional capabilities that will allow visitors to obtain information such as a company's credit risk, a company's corporate tree and international data,” said Doug Borchard, vice president and general manager at zapdata.com.

The company plans soon to offer risk assessment, URLs, consumer-based data services, and international data, as well as additional applications such as mapping, electronic campaign fulfillment, campaign management and data cleansing. In addition, it plans to offer versions of the basic services customized for specific industries such as insurance or finance.

“In addition, zapdata.com will be plugged through a growing network affiliate program of co-branded sites,” said Borchard.
