IBM, Chordiant Reach CRM Alliance

IBM Corp. and Chordiant Software Inc. are expected to announce today that they signed a strategic alliance to offer insurance companies a customer management solution that provides an instant, single view of customer data across the enterprise.

The offering, both companies said, will increase transaction efficiency and reduce operational costs for insurers.

The alliance offers an infrastructure from IBM and an application software suite from Chordiant that enable insurance companies to automate end-to-end business processes across all channels and touch points.

IBM, Armonk, NY, and Chordiant, Cupertino, CA, said the joint solutions will help insurance providers reduce other costs associated with customer management. These include providing services and improving marketing effectiveness and lead management while streamlining customer-related processes and operational efficiencies.

The two companies will jointly market the Chordiant 5 software optimized for IBM eServer pSeries and xSeries hardware, DB2*database software and the WebSphere infrastructure software platform, including the WebSphere Application Server. IBM Global Services will build Chordiant-specific skills to cater to customers that require contemporary, integrated, enterprise-level customer programs.

The alliance builds on a relationship between the companies in which Chordiant 5 Enterprise Platform was made available for deployment with IBM WebSphere Application Server.
