The Interactive Advertising Bureau and MediaPost reached a settlement regarding the use of the OMMA trademark, according to a joint statement issued Friday. Terms of the settlement were not disclosed.
OMMA, the abbreviation for the Online Media, Marketing and Advertising Awards, is given to interactive agencies and marketers for outstanding online campaigns. The first OMMA ceremony took place in September during New York's first Advertising Week celebration.
The settlement lets MediaPost continue to use the trademark for an OMMA conference and magazine, but not for an awards show this year. The IAB will launch its own MIXX conference, expo and awards with VNU's Adweek later this year.
