I3 Begins Campaign

I3, a provider of wireless media solutions, yesterday launched its first marketing campaign designed to drive wireless carriers and consumers back to a newly created Web site where they can sign up and purchase i3 services and products.

According to i3, Stamford, CT, the multi-million dollar campaign, which will continue through the first quarter of 2001 and operate with the tagline: The Possibilities are Wireless, will consist of print, broadcast, e-mail and online advertising. The ads are designed to drive individuals back to the i3 Mobile microsite, www.i3mobilenow.com, where they will be provided with the opportunity to learn more about its wireless data solutions and service offerings. The microsite will also serve as an indirect online consumer provisioning tool and drives end-users to distribution partner Web sites where they can sign up for i3 Mobile’s wireless alert products and customizable information services.

The first stage of the campaign is print-focused and will appear in publications including The Industry Standard, Interactive Week, Business Week, Forbes, USA Today, Wireless Week and RCR. In addition television ads will appear on CNBC, banner ads will broadcast and print media will support targeted regional markets across the US. TV ads will appear on CNBC, banner ads will be appearing on CNBC.com and radio ads will be broadcast during “The Howard Stern Show.”

It is also making its first move into the international advertising arena via ads in the trade publication Frecuencia, aimed at enterprises and wireless carriers in Latin America, and in the trade magazine Mobile Communications International.

I3 worked with Quinn Fable Advertising an ad agency based in New York.
