Hudson Valley DMA redesigns site

The Hudson Valley Direct Marketing Association has redesigned its Web site in order to provide easier navigation and a separate blogging section.

The site also has switched from a dot-com to a dot-org at www.hvdma.org.

“The site was outdated visually and navigationally,” said Sheryl Benjamin, vice president of consumer list management, Direct Media, Greenwich, CT. “We needed a more sophisticated look in keeping with our function as a professional communications organization.”

In the events section, members and attendees can sign up for HVDMA events through a direct link on the Web page. Downloadable event registration and membership forms are also available.

Full information on HVDMA events, mission statements, history, awards and scholarships, job bank, member directory, board listings and contacts are now available online as well.

Photo galleries will be added as upcoming events occur along with event write-ups via the new blog technology.

Within the upcoming months, the HVDMA plans to add online registration and direct payment capabilities.

Valorie Luther, president of Creative Concepts, Fairfield, CT, provided the redesign.

The redesign was done independently from other DMA’s and Ms. Benjamin could not comment on whether or not others were considering redesigns.

“The new blogging format for the events section, which is the section that changes most frequently, will allow us to make updates ourselves,” she said. “A less costly and faster approach than relying on a Web master.”
