Hub Poll Results: Marketers remain skeptical of the value of Facebook ads

Looks like Forrester is on to something.

We conducted our own poll of Hub readers asking them “How much business value do you get from Facebook advertising?”

Here are the results:

The majority of people thought there was some value to Facebook ads, but not a lot of it, while the rest though there was no returns to be gained from them. Precisely nobody thought Facebook ads gave them a great ROI, which is telling.

Sheryl Sandberg may have huffed and puffed her way through the last earnings call, telling marketers all the amazing things Facebook is doing for them, but the reality is for all the hype surrounding social media marketing, assigning it any real value is still a nebulous endeavor. As Jeff Dachis of analytics software firm Dachis Group says, maybe it isn’t about investing money in advertising as it is about getting people to simply like your brand.
