Hoover’s, a business database company, launched a Web platform with additional corporate data, as well as services for sales and marketing professionals, on March 8.
Peter Poulin, EVP of marketing at Hoover’s, said that the company created the platform to keep up with professionals’ demand for targeted information.
“It’s not just about data anymore,” he said. “The new generation of users has grown up with technologies that are much more targeted. They don’t want to have to have to pull data, they need it pushed to them.”
The platform includes real-time news and information feeds from company Web sites. Consumers can also download corporate family trees, detailing subsidiaries and parent companies. Visitors to Hoover’s site can compare up to three companies’ results at once.
Hoover’s will introduce a mobile application later this week, Poulin said.
