Hitwise, an online competitive intelligence service, announced the availability yesterday of its online competitive intelligence service for the U.S. market.
The service uses ISP activity logs, opt-in mega panels and proprietary Internet technologies to monitor the surfing habits of local Internet users at home, work and school.
The company monitors 10 million U.S. Internet users and how they interact with 200,000 online businesses.
Combining this sample with the company's existing sample of 13 million users across existing markets, Hitwise monitors and reports on the activity of 23 million Internet users worldwide.
Currently, the Australian-based company has operations in Australia, United Kingdom, Hong Kong, Singapore and New Zealand.
