Here’s How Sears Treats Lands’ End in Twin Cities Suburb

I read Tad Clarke’s editorial about Sears and Kmart with interest (“Another Bad Fit,” Nov. 22). I happen to like Lands’ End and went to the local Sears in one of the Twin Cities suburbs (I’m still not sure which suburb I’m in when I leave my home).

At the information counter in the men’s clothing department, I asked where I would find their Lands’ End line. They had no idea. Didn’t recognize the name. So I looked around — researching in DM fashion — and found a sign way above eye level and some Lands’ End clothes jammed in between two other lines. If that’s at all typical of how Sears treats a “prestige” brand, I’m not surprised sales are disappointing. Of course, that may be just a local fluke.
