In order to recognize branded content that’s performing well on the platform, YouTube is launching a Brand Channel Leaderboard. The board will be updated every quarter and will serve as a open list of best practices for branded content (and to encourage spending on promoted videos, much like the brands on the leaderboard.)
Here’s how YouTube says it will score brands for a place on the leaderboard:
Selection is based on an algorithm that factors in multiple signals of audience passion and popularity, including watch time, repeat viewership, likes and shares, surfacing only those channels that have the most engaged, active fanbases.
