Harte-Hanks to Pay $106 Million for Ziff-Davis Unit

Harte-Hanks, San Antonio, agreed this week to acquire ZD Market Intelligence from the nation’s largest computer publishing company, Ziff-Davis Inc., San Francisco, for $106 million, which includes $5 million in assumed deferred revenue obligations. ZDMI is expected to generate approximately $50 million in revenues this year.

Formerly known as Computer Intelligence, ZDMI, La Jolla, CA, provides businesses in the United States, Canada and Europe with specialized technology information and buying plans for use in the development of their communications infrastructure.

“ZDMI expands the database solutions we provide to the hi-tech industry,” said Larry Franklin, Harte-Hanks chairman/CEO. “It also strengthens our international presence and provides us with exciting new media capabilities.”

ZDMI maintains offices in France, England, Spain and Germany.
