Specialty cataloger Hanover Direct Inc., Weehawken, NJ, announced yesterday that it has struck a deal with search engine Excite to have merchandise from its books featured in a catalog department Excite plans to add to its shopping area later this year.
Under terms of the agreement, Redwood City, CA-based Excite’s catalog department will initially include merchandise from Hanover’s The Company Store, Silhouettes, International Male and Improvements. The department will eventually include merchandise from all of Hanover’s 12 titles which include The Safety Zone, Kitchen & Home, Tweeds, Austad’s, Undergear, Gump’s By Mail, Domestications and Colonial Garden Kitchens. Excite also will promote Hanover merchandise throughout its site at www.excite.com.
The two companies did not disclose financial details.
