Hanover Delays More Financial Filings

Hanover Direct Inc., which was delisted by the American Stock Exchange in January because of its failure to report 2004 financial statements on time, said yesterday that “it was not in a position” to file its annual report for 2004 or quarterly financial statement for the first quarter of 2005.

The Weehawken, NJ-based multichannel marketer sells home, apparel and gift items under brand names such as Domestications, The Company Store, Company Kids, Silhouettes, International Male and Scandia Down.

Hanover said it is working with KPMG LLP, its independent registered accounting firm, to complete its Sept. 25, 2004, quarterly and Dec. 25, 2004, annual financial statements. The company expects to file its first-quarter 2005 financial statements several weeks after these are completed and to have its second-quarter statement done on time.
