HandyGames, Greystripe Bring Free Games To Hand

Mobile in-game advertising network Greystripe Inc.  partnered with German mobile game publisher HandyGames to distribute 28 game titles.

The alliance brings free mobile games like Jan Michaelis Snowboarding, Pirates Ahoy, Bomber Pilot, Townsmen Racing, Space Guerillas, Atlantis 2097 and Ancient Ruins 1 through 4 to consumers. The game titles are all supported by advertising.

Greystripe’s AdWrap for Publishers launched three months ago. It is an automated online service that connects Greystripe’s advertising network to any mobile game. The service lets advertisers reach cell phone gamers, providing revenue and a wider audience to game developers.

AdWrap offers advertisers demographic targeting. Each HandyGame title will now be wrapped with full-screen or video ads after consumers opt in for the ad-supported software.

Most games that are not ad-supported cost $3 to $12 to download, according to Greystripe, San Francisco.

Among AdWrap network advertisers are Zagat Survey, Modtones and GPShopper.

Mobile advertising revenues are predicted to grow to $732 million by 2010, up from $56 million in 2005, according to the Yankee Group.

HandyGames, Giebelstadt, Germany, has developed and provided applications for mobile phones and mobile Internet for the last six years.
