Guerbet LLC, a Paris-based maker of medical imaging agents, named Meyer & Wallis, Indianapolis, its agency of record.
The agency will handle planning, advertising and tradeshow and sales collateral for the French pharmaceutical laboratory. Budget was not disclosed.
“We're going to do some direct mail, and right now it's for the Radiological Society of North America,” said Laurie Blackburn, director of agency communications at Meyer & Wallis. “There may be more direct mail in the works, but right now we're in the planning stages.”
The mail from Guerbet's Bloomington, IN, arm will target physicians and technicians attending the Radiological Society's Dec. 1-6 show at Chicago's McCormick Place. The show attracts 100,000 people.
Guerbet recently bought from Cook Imaging the worldwide rights to medical imaging agent Oxilan. With this, the company claims it will offer a range of X-ray contrast agents worldwide. About 78 percent of its annual sales come from Europe, where it claims a 20 percent market share.
An agency with billings of $60 million, Meyer & Wallis has clients like the American Heart Association, Pick 'n' Save, Batteries Plus, Meijer Inc., Cardinal Stritch University and First Team Real Estate in Orange County, CA. It also has an office in Milwaukee.
