Five leading e-commerce groups have gotten together to form an alliance called Merch.net (www.merch.net) with the intention of bringing online retailers educational services, which will highlight the most successful practices in the e-commerce industry.
The charter members of the Merch.net group are BizRate, Impulse Buy Network, Inktomi, LinkShare Corp. and Netcentives. The group will host merchant forums and workshops designed to educate retailers on practices that maximize sales and traffic. It will conduct and publish periodic research studies, called “Best Practices,” that will be aimed at identifying trends and innovative end-to-end e-commerce solutions. Merch.net also will publish case studies covering all aspects of implementing an online commerce initiative.
