Network Commerce Inc. yesterday signed a two-year agreement to distribute Goto.com's search engine through its Web sites for an undisclosed sum of money.
Network Commerce, Seattle, reported more than 55 million visits to its online network in the first quarter. The shopping and information network also carries more than 60,000 Internet merchants and 7,000 affiliate sites, such as ShopNow.com, and has a presence in 260 international markets.
Goto.com, Pasadena, CA, adds this market reach to such other Internet distribution agreements with Earthlink/MindSpring, Microsoft, Netscape and Go2Net. In a prepared statement, Goto.com CEO Ted Meisel said the businesses added to his firm’s search engine will help his firm draw more viewer activity.
