Google has added Street Views mapping functionality to its Google Maps for mobile technology. While this has been available for some time on desktops, now, with BlackBerrys and other java-enabled phones, users can download the application. When users are viewing a Google Map, they can click “Street View” to see street-level images of intersections, buildings and other landmarks.
“You can browse Street View overlaid on the map or in full screen, rotate your view to see more of your surroundings, and move along the street,” wrote Michael Siliski, product manager at Google, on the company’s official Mobile Blog.
“We’ve also added other features to help you search for and get to businesses and locations,” Siliski added. Additionally, “you can now read business reviews, so you’ll know if it’s actually worth driving across town to that store. And once you decide where to go, you can get there on foot using the same walking directions (beta) we recently launched on desktop.”
