Google Squared — helping searchers get organized

I’m all for getting organized — in fact, I’m happiest when all of my ducks are in a nice, straight row. So it’s fascinating to try out the new Google Squared, which was rolled out this week with the goal of organizing search results into a spreadsheet-like format with rows and columns. It seems like it would offer a lot of new opportunities for SEO…as do the other products they’ve rolled out recently including Snippets, Search Options and the Wonder Wheel.

Mark Simon over at DidIt lobbed the following comment to me about Google Squared:

“The world becomes more and more search savvy, the engines are evolving to meet the further demands placed on them. After analyzing search habits and needs, engines have developed greater enhancements into their algorithms to deliver the kinds of results that they believe the end-user is seeking out. As this learning curve continues, we will see how search technologies offer a user interface and results that will hopefully satisfy the searching population’s sweet tooth—leading to a whole new phase of search engine evolution.”

A whole new search engine evolution? What do you all think? Feel free to lob your own comments my way…about Google Squared or anything else.
