Google Nets Japanese AdSense Partners

Google signed its first Japanese distribution partners for its AdSense contextual listings program, the company said this week.

Web sites that began displaying AdSense text links on their content pages in December include Nifty Corp., Impress Corp. and Recruit About.com. In addition, NEC Corp.'s BigGlobe.com launched AdSense ads last week, and Jiji Press plans to display the ads soon.

Google, which boasts thousands of publishers in its pay-for-performance network, launched AdSense in Japan and a few European countries last month. AdSense uses Google's search technology to serve text listings related to Web pages' content.
