Google leads comScore search engine rankings

Google sites made up 48.1 percent of the U.S. search market in February, up 0.6 share points from the month before, maintaining its first place ranking, according to digital media measurer comScore.

In second place was Yahoo, which captured 28.1 percent of U.S. searches, followed by Microsoft sites that accounted for 10.5 percent.

Americans conducted 6.9 billion online searches in February, up 1 percent since January and 19 percent from the same time last year.

Google sites led the pack with 3.3 billion search queries performed, according to comScore. Yahoo sites came in second with 2 billion searches, while Microsoft trailed with 730 million.
