Google Chrome comes out of beta testing

One hundred days after its debut, Google Chrome, the search leader’s new browser, has gone live.

Since it was unveiled in September in beta, Google said it has reached more than 10 million users worldwide and released 14 updates, according to an official Google blog posted today.

Google cited improvements to video and audio, as well as to Chrome’s stability and security, and more controls on bookmarks and privacy, according to the blog posted by Google’s Sundar Pichai, VP, product management, and engineering director Linus Upson.

Chrome is currently available to Windows users, and Google said it was working on versions for Mac and Linux.

The company had been working on the new browser for the past two years.
