Google acquires Like.com

Google has acquired e-commerce and visual search website Like.com. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

“While Like.com will operate its websites separately in the near term, we’re excited about the technology they’ve built and the domain expertise they’ll bring to Google as we continue to work on building great e-commerce experiences for our users, advertisers and partners,” said Andrew Pederson, corporate communications lead at Google, via e-mail. He added that Like.com staffers will work closely with Google’s commerce team.

TechCrunch reported that Google paid more than $100 million for Like.com.

“We see joining Google as a way to supersize our vision and supercharge our passion,” said Munjal Shah, CEO of Like.com, in statement on the company’s website. “This is something we are truly excited about.”

Google also agreed to acquire Aardvark, which runs social searching site Vark.com, in February.
