Goodmail hires Peter Horan as CEO

Goodmail Systems has hired Peter Horan, former IAC Media and Advertising CEO, as its new CEO. Horan comes to Goodmail from IAC Media and Advertising, where he oversaw advertising and commerce for clients including Evite, Pronto, IAC Mobile and Ask Sponsored Listings. 

The move comes as Goodmail is trying to grow its business and get more e-mail senders to send its brand of CertifiedEmail, an e-mail with a seal of approval that is used by more than 500 commercial brands and 200 government agencies and nonprofits including the Red Cross.

“As more volume is flowing through this system – 1.3 billion messages in the month of March, 1.6 billion messages in the month of April, I am here to partner with Daniel Dreymann to help manage this,” Horan said.

Horan will spearhead the release of Goodmail’s new advertising platform for the inbox. He will work closely with founder Dreymann who had previously served as CEO.

Prior to working for Goodmail, Horan served as the CEO of (now part of Dun & Bradstreet), (now part of the New York Times) and (now part of Jupitermedia).  Prior to that he spent 10 years in publishing at International Data Group, serving as SVP and publisher of Computerworld. He also spent 15 years in senior account management roles at Ogilvy & Mather and BBDO.
