Global Mailing Company Springs Open a New Name

G3 Worldwide Mail NV, an international business mail company formed last July by three international postal heavyweights, said yesterday that it would brand itself under the name Spring.

The company allows businesses sending catalogs and direct marketing pieces to Europe and Asia to coordinate all of their international mailings through one contact.

TNT Post Group NV, the Dutch postal express and logistics company, has a 51 percent holding in Spring, while Consignia, the British post office, and Singapore Post each have 24.5 percent stakes.

Theo Jongsma, CEO of Spring and former CEO of TNT International Mail, said the name comes from the company's plan to breathe new life into the mailing industry.

“We wanted to create something a little special — something that would set us apart from postal authorities,” he said.

The launch of the new brand will be completed in two stages in the Americas with Canada and the United States involved initially. Argentina, Chile and other Latin American countries will adopt the Spring brand later this year.

Spring's headquarters is in Amsterdam, Netherlands, with three regional offices in New York; Brussels, Belgium; and Singapore. The company will have an estimated 450 million euros in sales, with 1,500 employees serving more than 200 countries.

A direct marketing campaign about the company is expected to begin shortly.
