Glen Giles remembered as leader in circ industry

Glen Giles, 47, a prominent figure in b-to-b publishing, was found dead last Tuesday morning. Police say Giles was stabbed at his home. A suspect, unnamed at press time, is in custody.

Giles, described as a “passionate and committed to the industry” and “very kind and good at what he did” by friends and colleagues, was the director of new business development for fulfillment company Hallmark Data Systems. He was also heavily involved in the Western Fulfillment Management Association and in volunteer work.

“Glen is a good guy,” said Jim Kuchinsky, president and CEO of Hallmark Data. “He made a lot of contributions to the industry, and I don’t know what else I can say about him.

“I think that if you look at what he has done and the organizations he belonged to, and how he contributed to those and made a difference in the b-to-b industry, he certainly did make a big difference. He will be missed,” Kuchinsky concluded.

Starting as an auditor with BPA Worldwide, Giles quickly found his niche in the circulation industry. He worked for multiple fulfillment companies, including ESP, Strategic and Hutchins and served as a board member for the Fulfillment Management Association.

Giles is survived by his mother and sister. His family requests only privacy — no donations or flowers — and is planning a family-only funeral service.
