The Federal Trade Commission has scheduled a July 27-28 public forum to discuss the provisions of the Telemarketing Sales Rule.
The forum will not address the creation of a national do-not-call list, which was discussed at a forum earlier this year.
The FTC is in the middle of a yearlong review of the law, which was established in 1995 and is to be reviewed every five years.
“We've asked the FTC to consider amending the current TSR to stop states from enacting 50 different state do-not-call lists,” said Jason Clawson, executive director at the American Teleservices Association.
