Firstlogic Inc., a commercial mail and information quality software provider, announced yesterday the release of its latest presorting technology. It recently gained approval to take advantage of the new Zone Analysis Program from the U.S. Postal Service.
ZAP was developed to help publishers and USPS personnel verify that Periodicals mail — typically weekly, biweekly or monthly magazines and newsletters mailed to homes and businesses — is properly assigned according to the USPS National Zone Chart matrix. This ensures that the proper amount of postage is collected for each piece mailed.
Firstlogic offers support of ZAP in its Postalsoft Professional Edition, Postalsoft Business Edition and Postalsoft DeskTop Mailer software packages.
The La Crosse, WI, firm has reached “Level 1” approval provided by the USPS. This means organizations using Firstlogic's presorting technology will not be required to manually create and submit an annual zone summary of postage payment for review by their USPS postmaster.
