FedEx Corp. said yesterday that FedEx information is now available on Nextel Online, a wireless service from Nextel Communications Inc.
Subscribers to the service now can view the shipping status of their FedEx Express and FedEx Ground packages through a wireless Web site dedicated to mobile package-tracking and drop-off services.
At the site, subscribers can monitor the shipping status of their FedEx packages and e-mail the tracking results to up to three e-mail addresses. The drop-off locator feature on the FedEx site allows users to find any of the more than 50,000 FedEx drop-off points.
FedEx represents the only package and freight transportation company included on Nextel Online, which has a domestic base of about 1.7 million data subscribers, representing nearly 20 percent of Nextel's total domestic subscriber base.
