FedEx Freight, a subsidiary of FedEx Corp., said yesterday that it is continuing its nationwide expansion by opening four new service centers and expanding a fifth facility.
FedEx Freight, Memphis, TN, provides regional and interregional less-than-truckload services. Newly constructed and recently opened sites include centers in Des Plaines, IL; Salem, OR; Texarkana, AR; and Springfield, MA. In addition, a supplemental building at the company's Long Island center in West Babylon, NY, will enhance area service and capacity.
The Des Plaines, Salem and Texarkana centers replace older facilities in their respective areas while the center in Springfield marks the first FedEx Freight facility in that area.
These openings follow other recent expansions, including a new center in Gardena, CA, and expanded facilities in Youngstown, OH, and Pocono Summit, PA. FedEx Freight also recently announced plans for a new center near Sacramento, CA, scheduled to open next year.
