Federated Department Stores Inc., the parent of Macy's and Bloomingdale's, yesterday said that it expects same-store sales in January to decline 7 percent to 10 percent, according to reports.
Sales in the week ended Jan. 12 “were consistent with this expectation,” the company said in its weekly sales call.
