Fair, Isaac and Protagana Debut Products at NCDM

NEW ORLEANS — Analytics provider Fair, Isaac and Co. and marketing software provider Protagana introduced multi-platform marketing tools yesterday at the NCDM Winter 2001 conference.

The Fair, Isaac product, called SmartLink, results from a partnership with data service provider Equifax. SmartLink combines Equifax's customer identification technology with a matching system jointly developed by Equifax and Fair, Isaac to help marketers easily identify all their existing relationships with consumers.

SmartLink users will be able to view all the interactions a consumer has with a marketer, be they through call centers, Web sites, retail stores or direct mail, from one source.

San Rafael, CA-based Fair, Isaac said that its client, Compass Bank, will be the first company to test a beta version of the SmartLink software. Compass Bank is a subsidiary of Compass Bancshares Inc., a $22 billion financial holding company with 341 offices in Alabama, Arizona, Colorado, Florida, Nebraska, New Mexico and Texas.

Protagana released Choreographer, a campaign tracking system that lets marketers schedule all activities in a marketing campaign and improve discipline in the marketing process, a company executive said.

The system tracks marketing activities across multiple platforms, including call centers and the Web, and among business partners.

A test version of the software is to go into operation with a Protagana client in January, and general release of the system is expected in February. It will be incorporated into Protagana's software suite, dubbed Ensemble, which includes campaign management, e-mail and reporting and analysis systems.

Protagana, Chicago, has operations in North America, Europe, Australia and Hong Kong. Its parent company is Recognitions Systems Group.
