Fabrik Communications Inc., San Francisco, changed its name to ROI Direct.com yesterday to recast itself as more of a direct marketing and Internet-related company. The privately held firm offers database marketing, e-mail marketing and e-commerce technology, primarily to catalogers, publishers and online merchants. The firm's CustomResponse unit makes technology designed to help businesses handle inbound customer e-mail. It will target the mid-sized business market.
