Web portal iWon will team with technology provider EyeWonder to offer its advertising partners the ability to stream video and audio in their banner ads, the portal said yesterday.
EyeWonder's Java-based technology will allow advertisers to use video and audio in their banners without media or plug-ins and to convert commercial tape they would use for television ads into banners.
“We're taking a proven advertising technique — the 30-second commercial — and utilizing it in a high-quality way,” said Jonas Steinman, founder/co-CEO of iWon, Irvington, NY. “People are used to watching 30-second television commercials. It's an engaging way to deliver a media impression.”
EyeWonder is headquartered in Atlanta.
